You may have started to see a new name in the scene AKAS. But who is this guy and where did he come from? The Kent-based artist
has already earned his mark within the scene as the artist KG. AKAS has worked alongside some of the most successful players in the game, from owning his label, Talkin Beatz, which featured 1st releases from artists such as Netsky, Fred V, Grafix, and early releases from Dimension and also koncept, now known as 1991, to having played in clubs and festivals around the globe.
Whilst being a major influencer with Talkin Beatz, within the movement of new school liquid drum and bass, he also gained a good reputation with his versatile productions. Viper, Monster Cat, UKF, Technique, Frequency, Radar Records are
just some of the labels AKAS has had releases with, as well as remixing tracks like Q projects – 2 little 2 late, which still gets played to this day.
AKAS has also gained a lot of support from mainstream stations such as: BBC Radio One, kiss 100 & 1xtra, with radio play from the likes of Annie Mac, Fabio & Grooverider, DJ Hype, Crissy Criss, and numerous guest mixes and interviews
over the years. To top it off he has had many tracks featured on compilations from UKF, Drum n bass arena, HOSPITAL RECORDS ministry of sound plus many more.
After taking 3 years out of the game, Steve KG decided it was time to have a fresh start and come back with a new name, with fresh goals in mind and a massive back catalogue of releases ready to be unleashed, you’re bound to hear the name AKAS in the coming months and foreseeable future so watch this space!
